How soon is my account activated once I have paid?

If you are paying by credit or debit card your account is immediately activated once your payment has been accepted. You will receive an email from WorldPay notifying you that your payment has been accepted and setting out password information for your account at WorldPay. You will then have unlimited access to our site.

How does automatic re-billing work?

For your convenience, once your initial membership period has expired you will be automatically re-billed at the same rate which you signed up for. This insures you against any price increase so in the event we increase our prices you will only ever be charged at the rate which you signed up for. This also ensures you have full and uninterrupted access to the site from one payment to the next.

How do I cancel automatic re-billing?

When you subscribe you can opt out of future re-billing but you will need to do this at least 3 days before your account expires.

You may cancel future re-billing at any time by going to "My Account" menu and clicking on "Cancel Membership". You will be given two options to choose from. Choose the first option "I would like to remain as a Guest Member but opt out of automatic re-billing".

Alternatively you can cancel your account directly with WorldPay using the details which were emailed to you when the FuturePay rebilling agreement was originally set up.

You will revert back to a Guest Member once your current subscription has expired. If you then decide you would like to subscribe again you simply go to the payment options again as before.

If I have opted out of future automatic re-billing, will my profile still appear on your database?

Yes. If you opt out of future automatic re-billing and later decide you would like to become a Subscribed Member, all you need to do is subscribe again - there is no need to register your details again.

How do I know when my account is going to expire?

If you are using our automatic re-billing system you do not have to worry about renewing your account as your next payment will be taken 48 hours before the payment due date.

If you have opted out of future re-billing, we will notify you by email when your account will expire.

How do I search for a date?

First, log into your account and then click on the "Search" menu on the top toolbar. This will take you into the search homepage where you will find 6 different methods to search for a date. To carry out a quick search click on the "Standard Search" link.

What is a "Standard Search"?

A standard search is a search based on your default search settings and the town you select. You can change your search settings at any time by clicking on "Edit Search Settings".

What is an "Advanced Search"?

An Advanced Search is a more detailed search which allows you to specify specific criteria, i.e. race, religion, hair colour, profession, hobbies.

To carry out an Advanced Search go to the "Search" menu and click on "Advanced Search". You will then see a blank profile with questions similar to the ones which you completed on registration. Only tick the boxes which are of importance to you. The more criteria you specify the less matches will show in your search results.

Please note you will need to upgrade to Subscribed Membership to carry out an Advanced Search.

What is a "Username Search"?

If you already know the username of a member go to the "Search" menu and click "Username Search". Type the username of the member in the box provided and click on the "Search" icon. The profile of the member you have searched will then appear.

What is a "New Member Search"?

A New Member Search will search for members who have joined our site in the last 1-14 days.

To carry out a New Member Search go to the "Search" menu and click "New Member Search". You can then select to see members who have joined in the last 1,2,3 .etc days.

What is a "Photo Gallery Search"?

A Photo Gallery Search will simply show the photos of all members based on your standard search settings showing the newest members first. To view the profile of a photo, simply click on the Username directly underneath the photo.

How do I change my standard search settings?

To change your standard search settings go to the "Search" menu and click "Edit Search Settings". Simply change the section you require and click "Update".

You can change your standard search settings as many times as you wish.

What is anonymous messaging?

Anonymous messaging means that any messages you send to another member will not reveal any personal details about yourself, e.g. your real name or email address. All that will appear on the message which you send is your chosen username. You can take as long as you like getting to know someone via anonymous messaging before passing on any personal details. You should only pass on your personal details when, and if, you are ready to do so.

How do I send a message to another member?

Go to the member's profile and click on "Send a message". A box will appear with the username's details completed and you may then enter your message. Once you have finished your message, click "Send".

If you have received a message from another member, you can reply simply by clicking "Send Message" underneath the message received.

When I send a message to another member will they be able to see my real name or email address?

No. The member you send a message to will not be able to view any of your personal details. Only your chosen "username" will appear on the message. This is what we refer to as "anonymous messaging".

How do I know if I have any new messages?

When you log into your account you will receive a message to say you have new messages. Alternatively, go to "My Messages" menu and click on "New Messages".

How do I read a new message?

Go to "My Messages" and click on "New Messages". A table will appear showing the username of the person who has sent you the message, a subject heading and the date and time which it was sent. To view the message click on the subject heading. If you would like to view the profile of the person who has sent you the message, click on their username.

Why can't read a message which I have received?

Whilst you may use many of our site's features as a Guest Member (including view profiles, search our database and send smiles) you may only read a message if you upgrade to Subscribed Membership. We charge a small fee to ensure that the people who use all our site's features are serious about meeting someone. You may upgrade to Subscribed Membership at anytime by going to "My Account" menu and clicking on the link "Subscribe Now!".

Can I delete a message if I haven't read it?

No. You must read your message before you are able to delete it. If, however, your message remains unread for 30 days it will automatically be deleted.

How do I delete a message?

To delete a message in your "Read Messages" or "Sent Messages" box tick the box in the "Select" column on the right hand side and then click the "Delete" button.

How do I stop a member sending me further messages?

If you do not want to receive any further messages from a member, you can use our "blocking" feature. To do this go to "View All Messages" and click "Read Messages". Then go to the username you want to block and tick the box in the "Select" column on the right hand side of the message. Finally, click the "Block" button. Alternatively, you can go to the profile of the member you wish to block and click "Block Member".

How long are my unread messages stored for?

Any messages which you have not read will be kept on site for 30 days after which they will be deleted.

If my messages are deleted can they be retrieved?

No. It is therefore in your best interest to log onto your account regularly to ensure you do not miss any messages sent to you.

How long will all my sent and read messages be stored for?

Any messages which you have sent and read messages will be stored for 30 days.

If I have mistakenly sent a message to another member, can I retrieve it?

You cannot retrieve any message to another member once it has been sent.

Why have some of the usernames of members I have sent messages to and received messages from disappeared?

If a username has disappeared out of your message menus, this is because the person is no longer a member on our site and their profile has been removed.

First and foremost, complete your profile honestly. You can answer the majority of the questions simply by selecting an answer from a list already supplied. There is an additional section which gives you an opportunity to expand on information about yourself, your interests and the kind of relationship you are looking for on Matchclub.eu.

How do I change my profile details?

To change your profile details go to “My Profile” menu and click “Edit Profile”. You will then be able to change whichever section you require. Any changes made to your profile will need to be reviewed and approved by ourselves before the changes appear live on site. You can change your profile details as many times as you like.

Can I change my Username?

Yes. Go to “My Profile”, click “Edit Profile” and change your Username as required. Please note your new Username will have to be approved before it appears live on site.

Why has my profile been rejected?

If your profile has been rejected you will receive an email from us providing an explanation and suggestions to write an “acceptable” profile. Please note we do not accept profiles which include personal email addresses, home or work addresses, telephone numbers or website addresses. For security information, this information is only permitted via anonymous messaging once you become a Subscribed Member.

How do I upload a photo?

You can upload your main photo and additional photos using one of the following methods:

  1. If you have digital images stored on your computer you can upload them quickly and easily via our site. This can be done when you register or added at a later date.
  2. Your mobile phone - you can email a picture to us via your phone and we will then post it onto your profile free of charge.
  3. You can post your photo to us and we will scan this in free of charge.

You will find instructions for all of the above options by going to "My Photos" menu and clicking on "Add Photos" once you have completed registration.

How many photos can I include in my profile?

  • If you are a Guest Member you may include 1 photo which will become your main profile photo.
  • If you are a Subscribed Member, you may upload an additional 3 photos.

What are public and private photos?

As a Subscribed Member you can choose to make your additional 3 photos public or private.

Why can I not view a member's additional photos?

To view a member's additional photos you must also be a Subscribed Member. If you are not a Subscribed Member you can upgrade your membership by going to "My Account" menu and clicking on the link "Subscribe Now!".

Why has my photo been rejected?

If your photo has been rejected you will receive an email from ourselves providing an explanation.

BLOCKING MEMBERS

What does "Block this member" mean?

If a member is being a nuisance, you can prevent them sending further messages to you by using this feature. When a member you have blocked tries to send a message to you they will receive a message saying that you have requested not to receive any further messages from them.

How do I stop another member contacting me who is being a nuisance?

To stop another contacting you can use the "Block this member" feature which will appear next to the profile of all members. If you receive a message from someone you wish to block there will be also be a link directly underneath the message to "block" any future messages.

LOGIN DETAILS

Your login details will be on emails which we send to you but if you have deleted these (or requested your login details not to be included in your emails) click on the "Login" link on the homepage and request your login details to be re-sent to you.

To cancel your membership go to “My Account” menu and click “Cancel Membership”.

You will then be given the option to opt out of future automatic re-billing and remain as a Guest Member or cancel your membership and remove your profile permanently from the site.

Please ensure you choose the correct option. If you would just like to take a break from paying, choose the option to opt out of future automatic re-billing and remain as a Guest Member. This way you can still keep your profile on site and search our database for singles and you will not have to go through the registration process again.

I am a Subscribed Member but would like to return to Guest Membership?

This is not a problem. Go to “My Account” menu and click “Cancel Membership” . Choose the option “I would like to opt out of future automatic re-billing and remain as a Guest Member.” Provided you have given at least 3 days notice before your next payment due date no further monies will be taken from your account. Your profile will then remain on site and you can continue searching our database for potential dates.
